It includes transitions in multiple directions like left to right, top to bottom and diagonal directions as well. So, in total, there are 8 smooth transitions in this pack! Okay, let's go back to the transitions. And please watch this video until the end, so you'll know exactly how to use the presets. In the rest of this video I will show you how to download, how to import and how to use them. You can find timestamps for each part in the video description. Okay, let's get it started! [Upbeat Music] if you follow the download link in the description, you will get to a page that looks like this.
You can just click on buy now and in the next screen you need to enter your email address to receive the download link. You'll also need to select your country, accept the terms and conditions and click continue. After that, you should directly receive the download link in your mailbox. Check your spam folder if you haven't received anything in a few minutes.
Once you have downloaded the preset, you first need to unzip or extract the files. On a Windows-10 PC you can do this by right clicking on the zipped file and select Extract All. Then select a folder that you would like to use to extract the files and click Extract. And, after that, you can head over to Premiere to import the presets. Inside Premiere, you need to go to the Effects Panel. In here, you need to right-click on Presets and then select Import Presets.

After that, browse through the folder that contains the preset file, select the file and click Open. Now, here, in the preset section, you should see this Storysium folder including all the presets. Now, in case this folder is empty, after importing then your version of Premiere is probably too old. This means that you have to upgrade to a newer version before you can use the presets. Now I am going to show you how to use the presets.
On the timeline, I've got a couple of clips ready for this demo. We're going to start by using these two clips. The first step is cutting the clips at the point of the transition. We can do this with the Razor Tool, which you can find here or hit the C key to enable it. And then, cut the first clip at a few frames before the end. And then we're going to do the same for the second clip. But here, I would recommend to double the amount of frames.
And, by the way, you can skip a frame on the timeline by using the arrow keys. And, if you use the SHIFT key combined with an arrow key, you will skip five frames. In this example, the first part is seven frames So, this means that you should use 14 frames for the second part to get the best results. After cutting, you can go back to the Selection Tool by clicking this icon here or hit the V key on your keyboard. Now we can head over to the Effects Panel and decide which direction we're going to use for this one.
As you can see, you can find the direction in the name of the preset and they also have an IN and OUT version. The IN versions goes onto the first part that we cut off. And the OUT version goes onto the second part of the transition. And, if I now give this a playback, you can see the results right away. You can also see the red line here and this means that it might be necessary to render the effects first before you can get a smooth playback on the Premiere Pro timeline.

You can do this by hitting the ENTER key on your keyboard or by going to Sequence and then select Render Effects In to Out. And, after rendering, the playback on the timeline should go much smoother. Next, I also want to show you that you can make the transition go faster by using less frames. Remember, in the first set of clips, we used 7 and 14 frames.
Here I've got the same clips, but now we're going to use less frames for the transition. If I now apply the presets and then give this a playback you can see that the transition goes much faster. I also want to mention that the presets will only work if your footage has the same dimensions as the sequence. So, for example, this sequence is 3840 by 2160 pixels.
And here, on the timeline, I've got a clip with a higher resolution. So, if I now cut this clip, and then apply the preset you can see that it zooms in at the start of the transition. This can only be fixed by nesting the clip before you apply the preset. And to do this, right click on the cut off part and then select Nest. Then give the nested sequence a name, and click OK. And, after that, you can apply the preset and it will work just fine. The final thing that I want to mention is that this preset was made on a 16:9 aspect ratio.

I did test the presets on a couple of other resolutions like 4:5 video and it worked just fine. However, if you do get some strange results you might need to start using a 16:9 sequence if you want to use the presets. Anyway, that also concludes this tutorial video.
